Apple Pie


How to Make Apple Pie:
To make this apple pie I followed two different recipes and it works well. Try this

Ingredients:

For Pie Crust Dough:

  • Butter                                226g (1/2 lb)
  • Granulate Sugar                ½ tbsp
  • Salt                                    ½ tsp
  • All-Purpose Flour              2 & ½ cups
  • Cold Water                        4 to 6 tbsp

For Inner Apple Stuffing:

  • Apple                                 6 cups (thin sliced)
  • Sugar                                  ¾ cup 
  • Salt                                    pinch
  • All-Purpose Flour              4 tbsp
  • Cinnamon powder            ½ tsp
  • Butter                                2 tbsp. 
  • Egg                                     1

Instructions:

  • In a big bowl add flour, salt and sugar. Stir it and mix well.
  • Now cut the butter (make sure that the butter is really cold) into pieces (not too small normal square size).
  • Than mix butter and flour together (use hands) but you have to be fast don’t let the butter get warm or melt. 
  • Add 4 tbsp of cold water and keep mixing the dough until the dough and is combined. Add water if needed but be careful don’t add too much water add little by little.
  • Now divide the dough in equal portion, wrap it in cling and put it in fridge for minimum 2 hours.
Now to Make the Apple Filling:

  • Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt with the apple slices. Mix it well

Assembling:

  • Remove the dough from the fridge, dust flour on the surface and start rolling the dough. 
  • I am using 8’inches pan so I rolled it enough that it should cover the sides too. So it depend on the size of pan you use. 
  • I am using my rolling pin and slowly I put the dough on the pin and lined in pan. 
  • Now place it well and for now leave the extra dough on sides
  • Put the apple stuffing in the pan. Don’t fill it to top else it will be hard to cover the top.
  • Put the small pieces of butter in bits. Only use 2tbsp.

  • Now roll the 2nd dough portion. This time you can also roll it long enough that you get strip little bit longer than your pan size.
  • Now cut the equal strips. I cut 10 strips. 
  • And place the strips, first cover the middle. Now pick slowly every other strip and place one strip in between. 
  • Use the fork or use the fingers to push the sides. Seal it and remove the extra dough on sides.
  • Beat 1 egg and brush it generously on the top for beautiful golden color.

  • Preheat the oven to 230c and bake for 40 mins. So for first 20 mins I put the pan in the middle and for another 20mins I place the pan on the lower rack so that the bottom will cook. But it also depends on the oven too. So bake as per your oven. 
  • Bake it until apples are soft and filling is bubbling from the top. Now let it cool down and Enjoy.
