Hamburg Buns

How to Make Simple Hamburger Buns:

I followed this recipe to make this simple, soft and fast hamburger buns.



Ingredients:

For Dough:

Dry yeast                          2 & ½ tsp

Warm water                      1 cup

Egg                                   1 large

Butter                               3 tbsp

Sugar                                3 tbsp

Salt                                   1 & ¼ tsp

All-purpose flour             3 & ½ cups

For Top:  1 beater egg, 1 tbsp milk and sesame seeds

Instructions:

  • In warm water add yeast and ½ cup of all-purpose flour. Stir it well and let it rest for 15mins. Once you will see foamy texture of yeast, it’s ready to work. 
  • Now add rest of the ingredients salt, sugar, egg and butter mix it well and now add the rest of the flour.
  • Mix all and knead soft dough. Knead it for almost 15mins if you are doing it with hands but if you have a mixer 5 to 6 minutes will be enough. If you need to add more flour go for it. The right texture is:  the dough is sticky and soft, but it’s not sticking to the hands. 
  • Wipe the bowl with oil and rub the oil on dough too. Let the dough rise for 2 hours or until its double in size. Because of the temperature here, my dough took 30mins and was doubled in size.
  • Knock the air out, lightly dust the flour on the surface knead it again lightly and make 8 balls evenly.
  • Now give it a shape and place it on the baking sheet in the baking tray and let them rise again. Once they are doubled in size. Paste on top beaten egg and milk mixture. Do it gently. Now add the sesame seeds.
  • Preheat the oven. Once the oven is heated bake the buns on 375degree or 180c for 15 to 17mins.
